Verisys was created in 1992 to mitigate fraud, waste and abuse in the United States health care system through a powerful blend of ingenuity, data and technology. Verisys provides screening of individuals and entities across over 3,500 primary sources for all current and historical exclusions, debarments, disciplinary actions and sanctions. Additional screenings against Sex Offender registries, Abuse Registries, OFAC, Social Security Administration Death Master File and more allows Verisys to provide complete transparency to our Partners in regards to their workforce.
Verisys will perform verifications and due diligence on all possible matches identified through the screening process in order to determine true and correct matches. Any discrepancies or possible matched data points identified are investigated and resolved with the primary source, eliminating any false positives. Supporting documentation and communications are documented and attached to each verification element, as required by standard-setting organizations (NCQA, The Joint Commission, URAC).
After the initial, full-history search is completed, Verisys will monitor the population for our Partners by continuing to gather data from the primary source(s). Whenever there are any possible new matches, Verisys will verify if it is a true match. Verified true matches are communicated to our Partners in near real-time. We identify potential concerns soon after publication from primary sources, rather than waiting for a monthly (or less frequent) check.
Verisys provides mission critical information around two key areas. First, determining if a provider’s relevant credentials are current, active and unimpaired. Second, determining the veracity of the information provided by an applicant (such as education, work history, medical training). At Verisys, we do not rely on self reported data, all credentialing requires primary source verification.
Verisys follows the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and state consumer protection guidelines and regulatory frameworks for dispute resolution. Verisys' dispute resolution service includes tracking of notifications, reinvestigation, resolution, and reporting, all within the FCRA specified time frames.

When a finding is verified for an individual, the results will be provided along with an automatic email notification sent to the provider (if applicable) and to the designated Partner corporate contact(s).
