A facility with practitioners who dispenses legend drugs (not samples) to their patient(s) must register as a PDO. A prescriber who administers but does not dispense legend drugs to their patient(s) is not required to register their facility as a PDO. Additional questions can be directed to licensing at the

This advisory board will include the dietetic licensure board, the board of athletic trainers, the licensure board for respiratory therapy, and the naturopathic medical board. The Board of Medicine will remain the ultimate licensing and discipline authority for Respiratory Therapists, Athletic Trainers, Dietitians, and Naturopathic Medical Doctors.

The Maryland Board of Physicians has announced two new expedited licensing processes available for new physician assistants:

1 – Licensure by Endorsement: The Board will accept PA licensure from another state as sufficient evidence that the applicant has met some or all of the requirements for PA licensure in Maryland.

2 – Licensure by Reciprocity: Maryland will accept PA licenses from Virginia and D.C. as sufficient evidence that the applicant has met Maryland PA licensure requirements. To be eligible, applicants must have good moral character, no disciplinary action, and meet any additional Maryand-specific requirements. PAs licensed in Maryland may also apply for licensure in Virginia or D.C. through licensure by reciprocity.
