What’s New with Credentialing During COVID-19 in 2020
What Verisys Clients and Health Care Organizations Need to Know about COVID-19 as it Relates to our Services
March 12, 2020
The World Health Organization (WHO) officially declared COVID-19 a global pandemic. Although Verisys is not experiencing any direct impact, this communication is intended to inform you Verisys Corporation has triggered its business continuity procedures as a precautionary measure in light of the declaration.
Verisys Business Continuity and Contingency Plans adhere to NIST 800-34 guidelines, which include communication measures, remediation procedures, relocation and redundancy procedures, as well as impact and recovery planning in the event of a disaster, pandemic, or service interruption. Initial steps have been taken to assure adherence to the policies in place, related specifically to a pandemic scenario, in an effort to prevent any impact to customers and the delivery of Verisys products and services.

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic. Verisys continues to deliver all products and services without interruption at this time, and we do not anticipate any service disruptions related to the pandemic in the coming days or weeks. A task force of leaders, representing all critical areas of the business, was established as part of standard Verisys policies and procedures related to business continuity, and this group of individuals has been tracking all COVID-19 updates at the state and federal level closely, making key decisions for business continuity over the past several weeks. With the issuance of the National Emergency, in tandem with school closures across many states, and social distancing recommendations at the state and local government levels, this task force has been singly focused on the safety of team members, local communities, and of ensuring continual delivery of Verisys services including remote credentialing.

We have already had health care organizations reaching out to Verisys looking for escalated screening and credentialing processes, as they prepare for an increased volume of critical care patients in the coming weeks.
We are proactively reaching out to advise your teams that we have committed Verisys resources to prioritize and escalate credentialing processes, related to the pandemic. The escalation and expedited credentialing processes can, if needed, be completed in as little as eight hours. If you need support in readying your facilities with short term hires to support the pandemic and patient populations. If you are an existing client, please contact us to assist. If you are not a client you can request a quote as we are ready and able to help your organization move these providers through the hiring and expedited onboarding process.

Verisys received notification from Puerto Rico that the medical board offices have been closed and verification services will not be supported at this time. While it will not be possible to verify licensure in Puerto Rico during the pandemic period, Verisys will return these licenses as “Unable to Verify” with a note that states “Due to COVID-19, the Puerto Rico Medical Board is closed and unable to process requests.”
