Verisys NCQA Certification Renewal
Verisys Corporation has received full renewal, 10 out of 10 certifications as a Credentials Verification Organization (CVO), by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), the health care industry’s recognized quality assurance organization.
The list of 10 verification services includes; Medical Board Sanctions, Medicaid/Medicare Sanctions, Ongoing Monitoring, License to Practice, Malpractice Claims History, DEA Registration, Work History, Education and Training, Practitioner Application Processing, and CVO Application and Attestation Content.
NCQA is a private, not-for-profit organization, dedicated to improving health care quality. Since its founding in 1990, NCQA has been a central figure in driving improvement throughout the health care system. The NCQA seal is a widely recognized symbol of quality. Organizations incorporating the seal into advertising and marketing materials must first pass a rigorous, comprehensive review and must annually report on their performance. For consumers and employers, the seal is a reliable indicator that an organization is well managed and delivers high-quality care and service.
NCQA’s Credentials Verification Organization (CVO) Certification Program evaluates credentials verification operations and the processes that the CVO uses to continuously improve the services it provides to its managed care clients. CVO certification is available to organizations that conduct credentials verification, report the credentialing information to clients, and have systems in place to protect the confidentiality and integrity of the information.
The NCQA Certification Survey includes rigorous onsite and offsite evaluations conducted by a survey team that includes at least one CR surveyor and one administrative surveyor. A Review Oversight Committee (ROC) of physicians analyzes the team’s findings and assigns a certification status based on the CVO’s performance against core standards and the requirements within applicable certification.
Verisys also continues to hold full accreditation with URAC, effective through May 2017, after a rigorous four-phase review process of building the application, desktop review, on-site review, and committee review.
URAC, an independent, non-profit organization, is a well-known leader in promoting health care quality through its accreditation, education, and measurement programs. URAC offers a wide range of quality benchmarking programs and services that model the rapid changes in the health care system and provide a symbol of excellence for organizations to validate their commitment to quality and accountability. Through its broad-based governance structure and an inclusive standards development process, URAC ensures that all stakeholders are represented in establishing meaningful quality measures for the entire health care industry.
The URAC Credentials Verification Organization (CVO) standards are designed exclusively for organizations that gather data and verify the credentials of health practitioners. The standards are designed to ensure a meaningful, rigorous, and fair credentialing process that protects both patients and providers from poor credentialing practices.
