Verisys Has You Covered with Expedited Credentialing and Verifications During the COVID-19 Pandemic

Mar 25, 2020 | Blog, Credentialing

With the number of coronavirus cases rising daily around the nation, healthcare organizations are calling for additional providers such as retired or part-time practitioners, practitioners from neighboring states, and telehealth providers, to assist them with the overwhelming need to provide relief to their current staff serving on the front lines. The recent updates from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) for screening and verification processes and protocols to assist with these overwhelming demands offers some relief.  However, Verisys recognizes your need to quickly onboard these emergency personnel due to COVID-19 as well as your desire to maintain compliance protocols and best practices in order to provide the very best in healthcare to your patients. Verisys has the data and technology to quickly credential and verify licenses for all the providers and staff you need to bring on board during this outbreak. We are committed to making the process quick and easy for your staff, even if they are working remotely, they can quickly access the data they need by logging into our cloud-based portal.

Expedited Credentialing and Verifications with Verisys Connect

Verisys can accommodate your augmented onboarding processes and the hiring of emergency personnel, due to the COVID-19 outbreak, by screening and verifying your providers and delivering fast, accurate results. With our committed resources to prioritize and escalate credentialing requests during the pandemic and our easy-to-use-self-service-platform, Verisys Connect, your staff can easily access necessary data on licenses, exclusions, sanctions, or disciplinary actions from the safety of their home offices. Verisys Connect can quickly screen the providers you are bringing on board for hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies against the FACIS® (Fraud Abuse Control Information System) database, the most comprehensive and most trusted data set in the country, reducing risk and ensuring patient safety.

Simple and Easy to Use

Verisys Connect is a cloud-based, easy-to-use, self-service platform that provides transactional searches and monthly monitoring against our database of more than 3,500 primary sources and over 5,000 total sources. By entering your provider’s or entity’s name once, you can collect the requested data from numerous chosen primary sources (exclusions, debarments, sanctions, and disciplinary actions) and save them into a single centralized location while easily adding or omitting providers and businesses from the screened population at any time.

Verifications with Over 99% Accuracy

Verisys will perform verifications on possible matches found during a search to determine true matches. Verisys employs a team of verification analysts who are specially trained to resolve false positives and to verify true matches with primary source data. A match category is assigned to each true match depicting the status and severity of the action. Both clear and accurate match results will be returned. All match results will include unaltered data from the primary source. PDF links to the primary source documentation are also provided with the delivered results.

Ongoing Monitoring and Transactional Searches

Many organizations choose to monitor their populations monthly to keep their organization safe, secure, and compliant while meeting government standards and regulations. Checking a provider’s credentials upon hiring is essential, but ongoing monitoring of an individual or entity is just as crucial to mitigate fraud and risk. Verisys ensures your organization and its providers remain compliant with ongoing monthly monitoring of your provider populations through FACIS®.

With Verisys Connect, a one-time entry of an individual or entity will provide a search of FACIS and will identify any potential matches from all Federal data sources (OIG, SAM (including SDN), FDA, DEA, TRICARE, FBI, U.S. DOJ, U.S. Treasury Dept., U.S. State Dept.) and all state-level Federal Healthcare Entitlement Program (FHEP) sources (State Medicaid Exclusions, State Contractor, Disqualification/ Debarment Lists, HEAT Task Force News, State Attorney General News, Federal District – Attorney General News, Medicare/Medicaid Opt-Out Lists). The same one-time entry of an individual or entity used for FACIS on Verisys Connect can be used for other transactional searches such as Abuse Registry, Sex Offender, OFAC, Social Security-Death Master File, and Professional License and Controlled Substance License.

Using Verisys Connect, clients can continually access the documents that were provided at the time of the initial inquiry when needed for reference or for an audit. Verisys Connect houses all of your records and provides a list of all searches performed over the past six months.
