Phil Smakula, National Sales Director at Verisys, Makes a Splash at AMGA 2019

The great outdoors is Phil Smakula’s playground. If it can be done in nature, Phil does it—fly fishing, hunting, hiking and more. As National Sales Director at Verisys Corporation, Phil is both passionate and personable in his consultative approach to solution selling.

Phil has more than 25 years of proven success selling, supporting and managing hardware and software applications that utilize technology-driven solutions within the health care industry.

He makes it a point to consistently meet or surpass sales goals by effectively managing and cultivating relationships with various customer organizational levels, sales teams, product management and engineering resources.

With his strong motivation for learning, he expertly implements a consultative approach to solution selling with his high-tech sales, marketing and product design acumen.

Prior to Verisys, Phil was Co-Founder and Managing Director at Fisus Consulting, LLC where he was a trusted advisor and directional leader for established and startup companies looking for strategic growth planning, product design and improvement, marketing and sales strategy, service and support structure, and investor search.

He spent more than three years at Rubbermaid Healthcare as category development manager-mobile computing. While there, he had national responsibility for supporting field sales and management teams on the technical aspects of the CareLink mobile cart and software platform, while providing training, coaching and formal sales methodologies throughout the sales process. He advised product management on design and engineering enhancements that improved functionality and addressed clinical and IT user needs, including electronic Medication Administration Reporting and Safety (eMAR).

His work history showcases management positions with the likes of AeroScout, Emerson Storage Solutions and Lionville Systems.

His heart is as big as his smile as he shares his time as a volunteer/board member of Camp PARC that assists special needs youth and adults.
