Let’s Stay Connected During This Pivotal Time in the History of Health Care Innovation
Verisys and its team members were planning to attend several global and national health care conferences this spring to connect with other health care and technology companies, and to share innovative ideas around health care improvement across our country. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, these events have been canceled, postponed, or converted to digital platforms.
Now more than ever, health systems and health care organizations are looking to technology and innovation to ramp up telehealth capacity, support the ever-increasing demand to provide quality care in our nation’s coronavirus hot spots, and to come up with solutions to combat this national public health emergency.
Because of the challenges the coronavirus outbreak has created, it’s more important than ever to find ways to connect and collaborate from afar. Medical groups, telehealth companies, health systems, payers, credentialing organizations, and more are motivated to work together and support one another in our efforts to decrease the impact this devastating pandemic will have on each of us, our families, and our nation’s health systems.
Organizations Dedicated to Improving Patient Outcomes
One of the conferences the Verisys team was scheduled to attend this spring is AMGA’s (American Medical Group Association) Annual Conference. AMGA canceled their in-person event and is converting it to on-demand virtual sessions as there are over 175,000 physicians who are members of AMGA and are needed on the frontlines, and to comply with state and national orders not to gather in groups.
AMGA’s purpose for their yearly conference is to bring medical groups and integrated systems of care from around the country together to share best practices and strategies and collaborate with peers to improve patient outcomes. AMGA, their members, and corporate partners are dedicated to dramatically improving population health and care for patients at lower costs. Having the insight and expertise from so many physicians, multispecialty medical groups, and integrated systems, AMGA aims to advance and transform the way patients experience health care.
How Do We Improve Patient Outcomes?
When asking the question, ‘how do we improve patient outcomes’ one of the areas that needs consideration is how physician quality directly affects patient safety, and fully vetted providers lead to better patient outcomes. High quality, fully credentialed physicians are of upmost importance to the success of our nation’s health care system. Included in this is eliminating fraud, waste, and abuse among our health care providers in submitting false claims to Medicare or Medicaid and other federally funded programs. CMS mandates that anyone receiving federal funds be screened, licensed, credentialed, and monitored to continue to receive payments for services rendered.

Additional screenings against Sex Offender Registries, Abuse Registries, OFAC, Social Security Administration Death Master File, and more allows Verisys to provide complete transparency to our clients in regard to their workforce.
In this unprecedented time in health care our mission and passion has not wavered. We stand ready to support your credentialing department in verifying licenses and performing in-depth sanctions screening and monitoring of your providers and staff to improve patient outcomes by ensuring that your practitioners meet all the requirements of CMS and standard-setting organizations such as NCQA, URAC, and The Joint Commission. There are ongoing modifications and frequent updates from our federal regulatory bodies as the pandemic continues to spread and as we work to implement expedited processes to meet the demands placed on our hospitals and health care clinics. Verisys will help you mitigate risk by screening your additional or current providers in full compliance with all the changes and allowances put into place by CMS. We are here for you and your patients.
