Irfan Hasovic Employee Spotlight
Say hello to Irfan Hasovic. Irfan is the Director of Technology Implementation at Verisys. He helps lead our IT organization in building and deploying the best technology solutions for our existing and future clients and partners. Irfan grew up in Bosnia during the extremely violent Bosnian War (1992 – 1995). In the city of Srebrenica, enemy soldiers killed almost 9000 men and boys in just three days. Irfan lost many family members in that war but was one of the lucky few whose parents both survived. Irfan and his family immigrated to the U.S. just days before 9/11 took place in New York City in 2001. Irfan graduated from the University of Utah in 2016 with an Electrical Engineering degree and worked for the U.S. Department of Defense for two years helping to build new software for fighter jets. He really enjoyed working hand in hand with the fighter pilots to do this. In his free time, Irfan loves spending time outdoors fishing, hiking, riding wave runners, and being around water in general. Prior to COVID, he loved going out with friends on the weekend, going bowling, going to TopGolf, and visiting downtown bars and clubs (yes, Utah does have a nightlife!). He’s recently picked up golfing and would welcome some coaching as it’s proving to be a difficult sport to learn. Something many people don’t know about Irfan is that he’s a 2nd Degree black belt and has been studying martial arts since he was 5 years old. He has his Ohana (martial arts ‘family’) all over the U.S. and travels regularly for tournaments. His favorite podcast is the Joe Rogan podcast, or any others related to sports (football, basketball, UFC, etc.). His favorite book is Extreme Ownership, and his current Netflix binges are Shameless and Ozark. Verisys is very fortunate to have Irfan’s leadership and exceptional IT skillset on the team. Thanks for all that you do, Irfan!
