VERISYS DISCUSSES PATIENT SAFETY THROUGH CONTINUOUS COMPLIANCE AT AMGA 2019 IN NATIONAL HARBOR

Continuous compliance is the first step to patient safety, quality outcomes and fiscal sustainability. The 2019 AMGA Annual Conference held in National Harbor, MD this week welcomes health care leaders nationwide including those holding the titles of CEO, President, Board Chair, CAO, COO, Administrator, Executive Director, CMO, CMIO, Medical Director, Accountable Care Officer, Physician Leader, CFO, Vice President, Department Director, Board Member, Chief Strategy/Innovation Officer, CQO, Quality Director, CNO, Compliance Officer, Chief HR Officer, Director, Information Systems Manager, and Pharmacy Department Manager.

The American Medical Group Association, AMGA, has the vision of “Advancing High Performance Health.” They work to reach the mission of, “dramatically improving population health and care for patients at lower costs,” through political advocacy, educational and networking programs, publications, performance measurement and creating and distributing improvement tools and resources.

Alex M. Azar II, the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) is addressing the attendees over lunch on Saturday.

Topics for discussion include “Reducing Administrative Burden through Clinical Delegation and Centralization,” “A Data-Driven Approach to Improving Access to Care,” “eHospitalist: Optimization of Your Hospitalst Practice Through Telemedicine,” “Closing Care Gaps: Using Technology and Physician Governance to Improve Quality and Ease Physician Burdens,” and “Optimizing Technologies to Succeed In Value-Driven Payment Models” among many other salient topics.

The conference is host to 2000 conference participants, 80 speakers and panelists and 40 peer-to-peer breakout sessions.

One of the highlights of the conference is the “Joint Leadership Council Session: Fireside Chat with Adam Boehler Adam Boehler, Deputy Administrator and Director of the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI) CMMI’s Adam Boehler sits down with AMGA President and CEO Jerry Penso to delve into the Federal government’s role in innovation. Boehler – who has publicly expressed a goal to “get rid of fee for service” – will discuss his efforts to have CMMI take a practical approach to some of the industry’s biggest issues, leading to the development of various payment and service delivery models. Boehler is widely regarded as an innovative leader and has led the development of new, patient-focused approaches to healthcare delivery. Prior to CMMI, he was the founder and CEO of Landmark Health, a company that provides home-based medical care. He previously served in executive level roles at aLabs, Accretive LLC, and MedeFinance.”
